Roy Vallus is the captain of the Citadel Centurions, serving as the second captain of the team from 2009 onwards, after Bryan Klisser. He is known as one of the most "professional and class" captains in the league, recognized from both his peers and other teams in the SHL league-wide.
During the 2015-2016 Season, Roy led the Centurions to the SHL Cup Finals, losing 4-2 to the Black Blades. Vallus captured the Royal Jersey Trophy for MLP, having the most points in the playoffs with 33 points (13 goals and 20 assists). Despite the loss, Vallus commented on his team, saying "I'm very happy with all we achieved despite the end result." He additionally won the Captain Victory Award for the league's most respected captain. During the 2016-2017 Season, Roy notched his first 100-point season with 28 goals and 72 assists, becoming the first player in the Centurions' franchise history to reach the mark.
League wide, Roy is known for his sharp sense of playmaking and conduct when facing pressure or conflict in game. Because of this, Roy is known either "The Centurion", or "The Chief".
